Open to Submissions
The new InterPore Journal is now live and we are happy to receive submissions
Read more about Open to SubmissionsInterPore Journal is a new international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal, entirely published and owned by The International Society for Porous Media (InterPore). Like the Society, our aims are similar in that we want to advance our understanding of, and research on, technical and industrial advances in porous media, to gain an improved understanding of the processes and phenomena involved, and to provide a medium in which this information can be easily shared within the international research community. However, we also have the overarching goal of becoming the focal point for the worldwide porous media community, where high quality research on the wide range of multidisciplinary multiscale topics related to porous media science and technology is published and made available for all.
Articles are published under a Creative Commons license on a rolling basis following final publication approval by the authors. Information on all published articles will be included in the bi-weekly e-newsletters which are sent out to all society members as well as all non-members who have signed up for the newsletter (ca. 3000 recipients), and on the society website.

The International Society for Porous Media (InterPore) is a non-profit-making independent scientific organization established in 2008. It aims to advance and disseminate knowledge for the understanding, description, and modeling of natural and industrial porous media systems. For information at a glance, please download the InterPore brochure from 2022.
Porous media are encountered in many natural and industrial systems, such as soils, aquifers, oil and gas reservoirs, biological tissues and plants, but also fuel cells, concrete, textiles, polymer composites, and in-tissue drug delivery, to name but a few.
Many of these porous systems are extremely complex. The traditional concepts, models, and algorithms developed for porous media in the geosciences are not directly applicable and there is a very strong need for tailored models, and measurement techniques.
InterPore acts as a platform for researchers active in modeling flow and transport in such complex porous media. InterPore aims to provide an environment in which researchers in the various industrial and natural systems mentioned above can be made aware of each other’s activities and exchange ideas so that the wheel does not have to be reinvented repeatedly.
